What is Steal the Throne?

bam.li/throne is a multiplayer king-of-the-hill browser game built around a single shared throne. One person holds it at a time. Anyone in the world can steal it. The mechanic borrows from capture-the-flag, last-one-standing, hold-the-button, and territory control — genres that share a common thrill: you against everyone else, for as long as you can hang on.

The player who steals the throne gets to put their name and a 30-character message in front of every visitor on the planet. A live reign timer starts the second they claim it. The longer they hold, the bigger their entry in the Hall of Fame, which ranks the longest reigns of all time. Get pushed off, and your reign — your name, your message, your time held — lands in the public archive at /history.

How steals are priced: the first throne steal in any 24-hour window is free. Steal within 5 minutes of your last and a small anti-spam tax kicks in: 200 BAMs if you stole 1–5 minutes ago, 500 BAMs inside 60 seconds. Patient players play free forever; spammers pay heavily. New kings also get a 15-second lockout grace the moment they claim, then it’s fair game again.

The Hall of Fame (longest reigns) and Hall of Shame (shortest reigns, under 15s) live at /history, with every flip permanently archived, filterable by country, sortable by reign length. A live multi-line feed on the home page scrolls every throne flip, invade and shield as they happen. Names lock to you for seven days, so if you claim it as @yourhandle, nobody else can pretend to be you for a week.

It’s free, no signup, no app to install, no email collected. Runs in any modern browser on phone or desktop. If you remember the original Reddit Button from 2015, or any longest-reign challenge since, this is the same dopamine loop with a name on it — a free online multiplayer king-of-the-hill game where the throne is real, the rivalry is global, and the reign is yours until someone takes it.

For a different mode on the same site, BAM Brawl pits every country in the world against each other in a weekly real-time tap race. Earn BAMs by tapping; spend them on shields and invades in the /shop. Full strategy guide at /tips.
